| Zusammenfassung: | For pumping organic distributed feedback lasers high intensities are required, because of the high laser threshold. In this masters project I investigated the concentration of optical intensity using luminescent concentrators, which can be used for pumping BBEHP-PPV organic lasers. High power LEDs were identified and the UV-LED Winger WEPUV3-E1 was characterised in pulsed mode with a resulting maximal intensity of 180 W/cm². Different materials for the concentrators were compared and the combination of coumarin 102 doped into polystyrene was found to be most convenient. To achieve the highest intensity concentration, the film thickness and dye concentration were optimized. The highest intensity concentration of 11.7 was reached for a 4.9 µm thick film and a dye concentration of 5.7 wt%. Furthermore I showed through ray tracing simulations how structuring the film could further improve the intensity concentration, when light is guided more efficiently in one specific direction. Finally an OPO pumped BBEHP-PPV organic laser was demonstrated with the optimized concentrator. |
