Lasercenter of Munich University (LHM)

  • History:
    • Lasercenter of Munich University of Applied Sciences (Laserzentrum Hochschule München, LHM) founded in 2006 by Prof. Dr. Heinz P. Huber
  • Goals:
    • Basic, applied, and industrial research in photonics and laser technology
    • Connect university and industry
    • Transfer knowledge to students in lectures, lab courses and theses
  • Core competences:
    • Development of applications with ultrafast lasers
    • Create fundamental understanding of laser processes at the interface of physics and engineering
    • Micro- and nano-material processing with lasers, in particular with ultra-short pulse lasers
    • Ultrafast time-resolved measurements and simulations
  • Applications
    • Pump-probe ellipsometry and microscopy
    • Femtosecond laser printing of living cells
    • Femtosecond laser structuring of fibers and fiber bragg gratings
    • Ultrafast laser scribing of solar cells

We have open positions for undergraduate students and thesis projects (see here).
