Lasercenter of Munich University (LHM)

- History:
- Lasercenter of Munich University of Applied Sciences (Laserzentrum Hochschule München, LHM) founded in 2006 by Prof. Dr. Heinz P. Huber
- Goals:
- Basic, applied, and industrial research in photonics and laser technology
- Connect university and industry
- Transfer knowledge to students in lectures, lab courses and theses
- Core competences:
- Development of applications with ultrafast lasers
- Create fundamental understanding of laser processes at the interface of physics and engineering
- Micro- and nano-material processing with lasers, in particular with ultra-short pulse lasers
- Ultrafast time-resolved measurements and simulations
- Applications
- Pump-probe ellipsometry and microscopy
- Femtosecond laser printing of living cells
- Femtosecond laser structuring of fibers and fiber bragg gratings
- Ultrafast laser scribing of solar cells
We have open positions for undergraduate students and thesis projects (see here).
